Sustanon (4x testosterone blend)
General information on Sustanon
Sustanon has four different kinds of testosterone as its active ingredients viz. testosterone propionate, testosterone phenylpropionate, testosterone isocaproate and testosterone decanoate. The drug is used for treating deficiency of testosterone in males. Testosterone in males is responsible for sexual development such as development of sexual organs and other secondary characteristics such as facial hair etc. The drug introduces testosterone in the body, thus helping in normal sexual development.
Precautions/side effects of Sustanon
Patients allergic to any of the active ingredient of Sustanon should refrain from using this drug. Other than that, patients with breast cancer, prostate cancer or high levels of calcium in the blood or urine should refrain from using this medicine. Patients with heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease or sleep apnea should take this drug only after consultation with a doctor.
The drug is also known to react with certain medications such as blood thinners like warfarin and medications used for treating diabetes like insulin. Patients on any of the drugs should inform the doctor accordingly before taking Sustanon.
Sustanon is a Category X pregnancy drug. It can have fatal effects on the fetus as well as the newborn. Thus, pregnant women as well as women who are breastfeeding should refrain from using this drug.
Other than that, the drug is also known to have certain side effects such as itching, edema of the feet or hands, breast formation in men, nausea, pain and swelling at the site of injection or pain in the muscles. However, in certain cases, serious side effects may show up to the drug such as prolonged or painful erections, seizures, irregular heartbeat or abnormally high blood pressure. If any of these symptoms show up after taking Sustanon, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
Important safety information
- The drug is fatally harmful for pregnant women. Thus, it should be kept out of reach of pregnant as well as breastfeeding women at all times.
- The drug contains traces of benzyl alcohol. Thus, it is not meant for use in children younger than 3 years of age.
Dosage of Sustanon
Sustanon is available in 250 mg vials. The drug is given intramuscularly and is not meant to be given intravenously. The usual dosage of the drug is 250 mg once every three weeks. However, the actual dosage may differ depending on the response of the patient.
The drug can be taken with or without food. However, it must always be taken under medical supervision. The chances of overdose of the drug are minimal since it is administered by medical experts only. However, in rare cases, overdose of the drug may occur, leading to severe symptoms such as irregular heartbeat, painful erection, seizures etc. which must be given prompt medical attention.
Storage of Sustanon
Sustanon should be stored at room temperature not exceeding 25 degree Celsius. However, the drug should not be kept in the fridge as it makes the administration of the drug difficult. It should be kept in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight and away from reach of children and pets at all times.
