Celebrex detailed information:
Celebrex (celecoxib) is often referred to as a 'COX II inhibitor' and is one of the new non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) used to decrease pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis. Celecoxib works by reducing substances that cause inflammation, pain, and fever in the body. It works by inhibiting prostaglandin production, primarily by the inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2. It does not inhibit cyclooxygenase-1, which supposedly makes it easier on the stomach than traditional NSAIDs.
It is used to relieve some symptoms caused by arthritis, such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain. However, this medicine does not cure arthritis and will help you only as long as you continue to take it. Celebrex may also be used for the following problems: moderate or severe pain, such as after dental or orthopedic procedures, pain during menstruation. Celebrex is also indicated for relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, for relief of the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis in adults, for the management of acute pain in adults, for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea, to reduce the number of adenomatous colorectal polyps in familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), as an adjunct to usual care (e.g., endoscopic surveillance, surgery).
If aching joints and pains have stopped you from doing the things you enjoy, consider taking Celebrex. Celebrex stops pain fast within hours, and provides up to 24 hours of relief with just one dose. And because Celebrex is more effective at targeting enzymes in the body that cause pain, it's also gentler on the stomach than other NSAID drugs. Single dose of Celebrex provided pain relief within 60 minutes. Do not take Celebrex with aspirin. Taking Celebrex with aspirin can increase your chances of developing stomach ulcers.
