General Information on Anadrol
Anadrol 50, a prescription medicine, belongs to the class of drugs known as anabolic steroid hormones. The drug is used for treating anemia caused by deficiency of red blood cells. The drug works by increasing the formation of erythropoietin in the kidneys. This chemical then circulates in the body, helping the bone marrow produce more red blood cells. Hence, the drug helps in treating anemia.
Precautions/side effects of Anadrol
Patients allergic to active or non active ingredients of Anadrol 50 should refrain from using this drug. Other than that, patients with kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, diabetes or high amount of calcium in the blood should use this medicine only after consultation with a doctor. Use of this medicine increases the chances of blockage of the blood vessels, which can be serious for patients with heart disease or high levels of calcium in the blood.
The drug is also known to react with other medications such as aspirin, Lipitor, Vitamin D2 supplements, bupropoin, carvedilol etc. Patients on any of these drugs should consult a doctor before taking Anadrol 50. Anadrol 50 is known to have adverse effects on the fetus as well as the newborn. Hence, pregnant women as well as women who are breastfeeding should refrain from using this drug.
Other than that, the drug is also known to have certain side effects such as headache, acne, rashes on the skin and increased hair fall. However, in some cases, serious side effects may show up to the drug such as breast growth in men, inflammation of the arms or legs, prolonged erections, unusual weight gain, jaundice or abnormal growth of facial hair. - The drug is known to react with grape fruit juice. Hence, grape fruit juice should be avoided while using this drug.

- The drug can hamper bone growth and development of sexual organs on children. Hence, caution is advised when using this drug in children.

Dosage of Anadrol
Anadrol 50 is available as 50 mg tablets. The usual dosage of the drug is 1-2 mg per kg of body weight once daily. However, dosage may be increased depending on the response of the patient. The drug can be taken with or without food. However, overdose of the drug should be avoided at all costs. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible. However, it should not be clubbed with the next dose. Overdose of the drug can lead to severe symptoms such as irregular heartbeat, jaundice etc. which need immediate medical attention.
Storage of Anadrol
Anadrol 50 should be stored at a temperature between 15 and 25 degree Celsius. It should be stored in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and away from reach of children and pets at all times.
