Your physician will recommend a Voltaren (diclofenac) dosage depending on the condition for which you are being treated. The standard dose of Voltaren when used for generalized pain relief is 50mg taken every eight hours as needed. For arthritis patients, the dosage of Voltaren may be higher, but you should only take the smallest dose necessary to achieve a beneficial result.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic autoimmune disorder. It is a type of arthritis that causes the immune system to attack the lining of the joints eventually causing deformity. Rheumatoid arthritis causes inflammation, stiffness, and loss of function in the joints. The most common joints that are affected by rheumatoid arthritis are the wrists and fingers. RA is more common in women. Treatment often includes physical therapy, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, steroids and other medications that may help to modify the course of the disease.
Rheumatoid arthritis patients may be prescribed a dosage of 100mg - 200mg daily. However, it is generally not recommended to take more than 100mg of Voltaren at a time.
